2026 Indiana Girls High School State Finals: Live Recap

The 2026 IHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving State Championships are underway at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN. The meet features a variety of events, including the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 1-Meter Diving, 100 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 100 Backstroke, and 100 Breaststroke.

The Carmel High School Girls are aiming for a legendary 40th straight state title, 200th event title, and 20th title for coach Chris Plumb. They currently hold 198 event wins.

The Carmel girls face a challenging competition from other schools, but still have four individual top seeds: Ellie Clarke in the 200 IM and 100 Back, Molly Sweeney in the 100 Fly and 100 Breast, and 1st place in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.

The Girls 200 Medley Relay Final saw Carmel take the top spot with a time of 1:40.90, seven tenths ahead of Valparaiso (1:41.60) and Hamilton Southeastern (1:42.48).

In the Girls 200 Freestyle Final, Emily Wolf from Fishers High School took the top time with a 1:45.84, more than two seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

The Girls 200 IM Final saw Ellie Clarke from Carmel take the top time with a 1:57.73, just a tenth-of-a-second over Carroll Fort Wayne's Jordyn Glassley.

The Girls 50 Freestyle Final saw the top three girls all under 23 seconds, with Carroll Fort Wayne taking the top two spots. Maris Williams earned the top time in 22.86, followed by teammate Kate Fetters with 22.92.

The Girls 1-Meter Diving Final saw Adelyn Flessner from North Central Indiana take the top spot with a score of 529.30.

The Girls 100 Butterfly Final saw Molly Sweeney from Carmel take the top spot with a time of 52.78, four tenths ahead of Mooresville's Lylah Theriac.

The Girls 100 Freestyle Final saw Kate Fetters and Maris Williams take the top spots again, with Fetters on top and Maris in 2nd.

The Girls 500 Freestyle Final saw Fishers junior Emily Wolf pick up a dominant win with a swim of 4:43.25, more than nine seconds ahead of Ava Metzger from Zionsville.

The Girls 200 Freestyle Relay Final saw Carroll Fort Wayne take the top spot with a time of 1:32.63, more than a second ahead of Zionsville and Fishers.

The Girls 100 Backstroke Final saw Ellie Clarke from Carmel take the top spot with a time of 53.08, followed by Lilyanna King from Muncie with 55.12.

The Girls 100 Breaststroke Final saw the top three finishers all with times over 58.40, with no new state record set.

The Girls 400 Free Relay Final saw the Carmel team take the top spot with a time of 3:15.38, setting a new state record.
