Imagine a world where commuting is easier and more convenient! TFI Local Link Mayo has just taken a giant leap forward by introducing contactless payment options for passengers using their regular transport services. Now, travelers can effortlessly pay for their fares with a variety of contactless methods, including debit and credit cards, as well as popular mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has proudly announced the successful implementation of this new payment system. This achievement follows the positive outcomes from a pilot program conducted in Cavan and Monaghan, alongside the recent launch of similar contactless payment facilities in Tipperary, Laois, and Offaly.
As part of this upgrade, commuters can use contactless payments exclusively for single-journey fares. However, if you're looking to purchase daily or weekly travel products, those will still be available through the Leap website and the TFI Leap Top-up App. Don't worry if you prefer traditional methods; passengers can continue to use TFI Leap cards and cash for their fares, and Free Travel Cards remain valid on all qualifying services.
To celebrate this exciting development, I spoke with Sarah Togher, the General Manager of TFI Local Link Mayo. She expressed her enthusiasm for this advancement, which promises to enhance the experience for all passengers utilizing TFI Local Link Mayo.
