M5 Junction 19 Closure Near Bristol: What Drivers Need to Know This Weekend (2026)
A major junction on the M5 near Bristol is set to shut temporarily for repairs, as drivers are asked to plan ahead for weekend travel.
The bridge at Junction 19, which connects to Portbury Docks and Portishead, will undergo maintenance work. The southbound side of the bridge will be closed from 20:00 GMT on Friday until 06:00 on Monday. The following week, the northbound side will close during the same Friday-to-Monday window.
Traffic on the M5 itself will continue to run as usual, but the staggered bridge closures will restrict movements around the junction, according to National Highways.
